Q.A.R.A.N.C. Short lived 1949 -1952 other ranks pattern, Queen Alexandra's Royal Army Nursing Corps bi-metal cap badge. King George VI crowned wreath bearing "Sub Cruce Candida" (Under the White Cross) scrolls, the Dannebrog lettered "A" for Alexandra to the centre "Q.A.R.A.N.C" with applied white metal title below. Two loop fittings. VGC.

State Registered Nurses were granted officer status in 1904 but did not receive regular commissions until QARANC was formed in 1949. A year later other ranks were recruited.
